Rooted in Vinyasa + Viniyoga
Our 200-hour training is built on the foundations of both Vinyasa and Viniyoga, two powerful and complementary lineages that honor movement, breath, and adaptability.
Vinyasa Yoga emphasizes breath-led movement. You’ll learn how to guide fluid, purposeful sequences where each posture flows into the next, supporting strength, mobility, and mindfulness. Vinyasa is dynamic, creative, and powerful—but never performative.
Viniyoga is therapeutic and personalized. It teaches you how to adapt the practice to the individual, not the other way around. Rooted in function over form, this approach respects where the student is physically, emotionally, and energetically in any given moment.
By blending these two lineages, you'll graduate with the tools to teach both strong and grounding flows—and to hold space for all types of students, in all seasons of life.
Here is a glimpse of what we will cover
-
Learn how to hold space for others with compassion, awareness, and care. You'll gain tools to teach in a way that honors all experiences and promotes nervous system safety.
-
Break down each pose so you understand the why—not just the what. You'll learn alignment that’s functional, not performative.
-
Explore how the body truly moves, breathes, and functions on and off the mat. This will help you cue with clarity and support students with all body types.
-
Learn to build classes that are intentional, intelligent, and impactful. No more guessing—just flows that feel good and make sense.
-
Yoga isn’t just movement—it’s a way of living. We’ll explore how to apply the teachings of yoga to everyday life, relationships, and challenges.
-
Go beyond the physical into the energetic layers of the body. We'll explore chakras, nadis, and the unseen aspects of your practice that affect how you feel.
-
Experience how breath can shift your mood, energy, and focus in just a few minutes. You’ll learn powerful breathing practices to use personally and in your classes.
-
Connect to the roots of yoga with depth and respect. We’ll explore ancient wisdom in a way that’s meaningful and relevant to your modern life.
-
Learn how to adapt your teaching for diverse groups—whether that’s beginners, older adults, athletes, or students with unique needs. Yoga is for everybody, and you’ll learn how to make that a reality.

WHAT STUDENTS SAY ABOUT THE PROGRAM
I am extremely impressed with the Honest Yoga 200 Hour Teacher Training certification. The curriculum, instructors Nicole Byars and Sherry Edlund, and practice teaching have fully prepared me for my yoga teacher journey.
The instructors were extremely knowledgeable, patient and well versed in how to best teach adult learners. The focus on creating a welcoming, nurturing and judgment free environment was extremely impressive. I will be a better yoga teacher because of this focus. I could not be more pleased with my experience at Honest Yoga.
