A gentle reminder about what we make room for.

Honestly Mondays

A gentle reminder about what we make room for.

I woke up this morning with a lot on my mind—not in an overwhelming way, just in that quiet, grounded way where you actually have space to hear your own thoughts. I love when that happens. It doesn’t happen often, but when it does, I try to pay attention.

Something I’ve been noticing lately, especially in conversations around our 200-hour teacher training, is how similar our hesitations are as humans. Different stories, different life stages, but the same core feelings show up.

People say:

“Timing feels hard.”
“Money is tight.”
“Maybe later.”

And honestly? I completely understand. We’re all living real lives. People are buying houses, raising kids, shifting careers, or just trying to keep up with a full season of life. These responsibilities matter. They’re not excuses; they’re real, valid parts of being human.

But as these conversations kept coming up, I found myself circling one truth again and again:

Most of the time, it’s not actually about time or money.
It’s about priority.

We all make room for the things that matter to us.
We stretch.
We adjust.
We get creative.
We figure it out.

Not because it’s convenient, but because something in us says, I want this.

When something stays in the “someday” category, it’s usually because we haven’t decided to move it into the “now” category yet. It’s not wrong. It’s just honest.

And so lately, I’ve been asking this question—gently, but directly:

Do you want this because it sounds nice…
or do you want it enough to make room for it?

Two very different things.

When we stop waiting for life to slow down,
when we stop hoping money will suddenly feel easier,
when we stop waiting for that perfect stretch of calm that never actually arrives…

That’s when things begin to shift.

You decide.
You commit.
You move.

And almost magically, the timing starts to work because you made it work. Not perfectly. Not without discomfort. But intentionally.

And here’s the part I think we forget:

Choosing something doesn’t mean we have everything figured out.
It just means we’re willing to rearrange things so we can move toward it.

Whether it’s teacher training, a career change, a new chapter, or something personal you’ve been holding, this is your moment to check in with yourself:

Is this a “later” thing?
Or is it quietly asking for “now”?

Only you know that answer.
But the moment you name it honestly, everything else becomes clearer.

Thanks for being here.
Thanks for reading.
And thanks for letting me share what’s been circling in my mind and heart today.

xo, Nicole
